When I first considered going public with Matthew&#39;s story, I had a great deal of fear. I can remember standing with you and Ken and other members of VFP and that fear dissolved. I felt that if you guys who have all served the country were there for me then I had nothing to fear from anyone. I may have taken that a bit too far outside of the Winter&#39;s Soldier in NYC that evening but they were just a gaggle of geese. At that time I was a MMFN and subsequentlty had my rating changed to EN. The second ship I was assigned to was the USS Grand Canyon AR 28, where I was assigned to the diesel engine repair shop. <BR/><BR/>Having spent time in the engineering ratings, I myself handled asbestos on many occasions before the hazards were well know. <BR/><BR/>A few years ago I received a phone call from an attorney who was representing a former BT from the Grand Canyon who had terminal mesothelioma. It appears that this ex KGB thug Putin is looking to restore much of the old Soviet empire. Perhaps if Georgia had been a NATO member and our forces were not tied up in stupid wars, the Russians may not have indvaded at all. <BR/>A lot fo conjecture here, but...what if Putin decides to proetect ethnic Russians in the Ukraine next?
