Alan Reilly-Gene Glazer Chapter 21, Veterans For Peace is an affiliate of the national organization founded in 1985. Alan, who died at age 54 in 2006, served in the US Army in Vietnam and volunteered with many organizations in northern New Jersey. Gene, who died in 2007, was a US Army medic in WWII and union organizer active in many organizations, including the national board of Veterans For Peace.
The VFP national office in Saint Louis, MO coordinates local chapters and at-large members across the country via an annual convention, newsletters, emails and other VFP publications. The organization includes men and women veterans of all eras including World War II, the Korean, Vietnam, Gulf, Afghanistan and Iraq wars as well as the Cold War and other conflicts.
We draw on our personal experiences and perspectives as veterans to raise public awareness of the true costs and consequences of militarism and war - and to seek peaceful, effective alternatives.
